staying fit through proper walking

staying fit through proper walkingPerhaps the cheapest and most expedient way to lose weight is to walk it out. Most people can lose at least one pound a week by walking at a moderate pace for at least thirty to sixty minutes a week. Walking is not only great for weight loss but it also cuts your risk of stress related mood disorders, heart disease, colon cancer, stroke, breast cancer and diabetes.

Every individual is different when it comes to how long it will take for him or her to burn the fat off. To put it simply, a pound of fat equals 3500 calories. In order to lose that one pound a week you will need to burn off 3,500 more calories than the total calories that you consumed for that week. Time does not matter as much as distance. However the faster you walk the more calories you will be burning per mile.

Walking your weight off is not the same as strolling. You can stroll weight off but it will take a lot longer than if you walk at the optimal fat burning pace. This determined pace means that you are breathing a little hard but not so hard that you cannot carry on a conversation in full sentences. This will help pretend that you are walking fast, like you would if you were a bit late for an important appointment. When you are walking at this speed it means that you are exercising at sixty to seventy percent of your maximum heart rate, which burns calories efficient, helps create lean muscle and elevates the efficiency of the metabolism. So, enjoy walking!

my new favorite game

my new favorite gameAfter I finished my Jane’s realty game, I now started to begin a new kind of game – the woobies. It’s not downloadable. I just played it online. And, I’m becoming addicted to it. It’s a very simple game. As you can see in the picture, all I have to do is to match at least three same color round guys next to each other. Then, that’s it. I have been playing it for about three days now. And, it has become my favorite. Well, that’s other than the fishville game in facebook.

Anyway, enough about games because I still have to get more information about hgh releaser. One of the articles I bump into earlier this day said that it is the fountain of youth. It is quite interesting as it promises to reverse all signs of aging. But, let’s see about that.

leisurely checking the web while waiting

leisurely checking the web while waitingYesterday is not our schedule to go to the mall to do our grocery. But, we ran out of almost everything. Hehehe! It’s my fault, actually. I had a bad temper last Saturday that we just decided to cut short our grocery time, which leaves us with few items in our cart. Good thing we did. Why? For at least a month, I have been planning to go to the electrical supplies section of the mall. However, I always forget that especially when I’m overwhelmed with so many beauty products.

But, yesterday before we head out to the mall, I leisurely check the web while waiting. Fortunately, I bump across an electrical online store that reminds me to list down all the electrical devices that I need namely socket, plugs and caps, switch, cable ties and wire fasteners. It’s quite a lot. Well, I was able to secure all of those. That leaves me to schedule my electrical task on Sunday when Hubby is around.

weekend pampering

weekend pamperingToday, I schedule a pampering weekend for me and hubby. Yep! I will try to lure him to a health and beauty-break in a nice day spa. What better way is there to relax after a long week at work other than a soothing massage with aromatherapy?

Pampering beauty treatment breaks will rejuvenate and leave the pampered person feeling like a new person. There are lots of hotels or beauty spas that offer a combination of gracious accommodation, fine dining, superb entertainment and luxury spa.

I just found the many benefits of going to a spa beyond mere relaxation and beautification. Below are as follow

  • enhancing spiritual awareness
  • increase the body’s energy flow
  • improving flexibility of our body
  • reducing high blood pressure and hypertension
  • healing emotional distress
  • reduce the effects of ageing
  • soothing tired muscles
  • toning and nourishing the skin
  • detoxifying our body
  • stimulating circulation
  • reducing weight and weight-related problems
  • reducing insomnia, stress and fatigue

Weekends are the perfect time to soothe the mind and revitalise the soul. Hubby and I deserve to be really pampered. Hopefully he’ll agree with me.

Tips for a Lifelong Relaxation

Posted on Tuesday, January 19th, 2010 at 8:20 am

Tips for a Lifelong RelaxationYou don’t have to do these activities in any particular order, but to really make relaxation a part of your life you need to bring as many of them as you can into your life. They cost nothing and can relax you for a lifetime.

  • Being in Nature - our biology has given us the unique ability to appreciate the wonder and beauty of nature. We can lose ourselves in it, be at one with it. The natural world is our genetic home, not the city, or the suburb or even the farm. Recent research has shown that just by putting a potted plant in your office you can aid in relaxation. Kids who are allowed to play in or explore natural surroundings are much less likely to be depressed or be afflicted with ADHD. Stroking a cat or patting a dog has been shown to greatly reduce high blood pressure and stress.
  • Meditating – perhaps the reason we find meditation so relaxing is that it originates in a natural response to immediate danger. The three possible responses to danger are to flee, to fight or to freeze. A baby deer will freeze, so will a possum (playing possum). This is a state of absolute stillness, absolute relaxation. In it all awareness of the self and of your surroundings (including the danger) is gone, like the deep meditator, you are literally “out of body.” In meditation we make use of that part of the brain which also facilitates the freeze reaction-it is literally our escape from the danger of being over-stressed.
  • Indulging in art - art, like music is in our genes. Long before humans painted caves they painted themselves. When we create something artistic we can get into the flow. The chatter of our own dysfunctional programming and the anxiety of the world can be shut out. We can surrender to the process. With are it really is a case of the process being all-important and the end result immaterial. We are naturally process-orientated, not goal-orientated creatures. Relaxation is a matter of process.
  • Connecting to the divine – we are all wired for spirituality and we need to have a belief system. We also have a genetic need for the other things that go with spirituality prayer (even Buddhists who don’t believe in God pray), ritual, chanting and sense of purpose. The more we give ourselves over to these things the less stressed and the more relaxed we become.
  • Being with friends - above all else we are a social species. As a ton of research has shown and as we demonstrate in the Uplift Program, our mood, our psychological well-being, and even our physical health, depends on the state of our relationships. If your relationships were strong and supportive in childhood (particularly with your parents) you are much less likely to be depressed and anxious now. The way to cure anxiety and depression in adulthood is through the cultivation of certain kinds of supportive relationships. Relaxation with good friends is therefore bound to give us the most powerful genetic reward of all.

Discovering Varadero Cottage Puerto Galera

Discovering Varadero Cottage Puerto GaleraThis is a traditional Filipino thatched cottage on a peaceful sandy beach, just 15-20 minutes walk from Puerto Galera. The main feature of the cottage is the wide porch and balcony that steps directly onto Encenada beach. The beach itself is secluded, has good quality whitesand, and is quiet. There is one twin bedroom upstairs and two double bedrooms downstairs each with an additional bed. Each bedroom is fitted with a fan. The town water supply is good, and the power supply is also from the town, backed up by a standby generator. The kitchen is equipped with a large refrigerator, a modern gas stove with an oven, and has all the necessary cooking equipment, crockery and glasses. All beddings are provided. The caretakers live very near by, and will take care of the cleaning as well as going to the market.
