can’t get insurance due to his activities

Posted on Sunday, March 7th, 2010 at 6:21 pm

can't get insurance due to his activitiesIt is true that when a person is doing high risk activities or have a serious illness, most insurance companies would reject their application. One of my friends who love scuba diving is having a hard time looking for an insurance company that will give him high risk life insurance. When he finds one, the company will charge him ridiculous amount.

That is the very reason he doesn’t have any insurance at all. And, he is already losing hope in this matter. He would rather save his money to his bank account than pay tremendously high monthly premiums. He said it is the same way.

Well, I don’t know about that. I am not pretty sure if both have the same benefits. I think insurance will give me higher advantage in terms of reimbursement. But, I am not certain about that. Anyway, it’s his life so I won’t bother telling him about that.

staying fit through proper walking

staying fit through proper walkingPerhaps the cheapest and most expedient way to lose weight is to walk it out. Most people can lose at least one pound a week by walking at a moderate pace for at least thirty to sixty minutes a week. Walking is not only great for weight loss but it also cuts your risk of stress related mood disorders, heart disease, colon cancer, stroke, breast cancer and diabetes.

Every individual is different when it comes to how long it will take for him or her to burn the fat off. To put it simply, a pound of fat equals 3500 calories. In order to lose that one pound a week you will need to burn off 3,500 more calories than the total calories that you consumed for that week. Time does not matter as much as distance. However the faster you walk the more calories you will be burning per mile.

Walking your weight off is not the same as strolling. You can stroll weight off but it will take a lot longer than if you walk at the optimal fat burning pace. This determined pace means that you are breathing a little hard but not so hard that you cannot carry on a conversation in full sentences. This will help pretend that you are walking fast, like you would if you were a bit late for an important appointment. When you are walking at this speed it means that you are exercising at sixty to seventy percent of your maximum heart rate, which burns calories efficient, helps create lean muscle and elevates the efficiency of the metabolism. So, enjoy walking!

want to soak in cold beach waters

want to soak in cold beach watersSince it’s too hot this day, the only thing that I want to do is to stay in the bathroom and soak in the water. But, that would be a waste of our precious resources. Even if I can pay the water bill, I would still prefer not to because I want to take part in conservation it. My little way will help those in great need such as the farmers and other affected areas of Elnino.

Anyway, if this hot weather persists in the next couple of days, I will surely plan for a beach family vacation. Beach water is endless and I can soak as long as I want. If given a chance I will opt for the secluded white-sand beaches on the Mexican Riviera Maya. I’ve said it before that Karisma offers elite level of service, luxurious accommodations, invigorating entertainment and the classy snap-to service all in one price. But, that would mean a lot of work. So, I would rather go for the local beaches in the area.

great sunscreen leisure plans

great sunscreen leisure plansThrough trial and error we learn that most of the aerosol sunscreens, while quick and convenient, tend to sting. The spray sunscreens don’t seem to have day-long staying power, plus you need to spend the time to rub them in carefully. Some of the smudge-proof, water-proof, rub-proof products do have staying power, but are too sticky and take too long to absorb into excited kids who are waiting to jump in the water or run around outside. So, after a lot of “eeww!” and “gross!” here are a few great sunscreen products:

  • No-Ad Continuous Spray SPF 50, Alcohol-Free – this waterproof spray-on sunscreen is convenient and quick to apply, but because it doesn’t have alcohol like the other aerosol sunscreens, it doesn’t sting kids with sensitive skin.
  • Baby Lizard & Blue Lizard-Australian sunscreen – this is chemical-free and fragrance-free with 30-plus SPF. Although a bit on the sticky side, it’s soothing and lasts (with one reapplication) through long days in the sun and pool.
  • Sunscreen sticks (Coppertone Water Babies brand with 30 SPF) – they have great staying power and work well when applied to high-exposure spots like faces, ears and shoulders. Their small size makes them easy to have on hand — and kids can apply themselves.
  • Sunscreen wipes – while not always waterproof, these are quick to apply and provide ample coverage for days at the park or in the yard.

positive emotions linked to healthy heart

positive emotions linked to healthy heartSince we only have one heart, we should do something to keep it in good condition. Appearing in the latest issue of the leading cardiology publication European Heart Journal, the study shows that happiness, content and enthusiasm are among the emotions that may be tied to a much better level of health, regardless of age and gender. The new, major review showed that happier people tend to experience a lot less hearth problems that those who spent less time laughing or feeling good.

According to scientists involved in the new observational investigation, the conclusions were produced only by looking at how people evolved over time. But the leader of the work, Dr Karina Davidson, an expert at the Columbia University Medical Center, says that the results could in the near future inform physicians on developing new approaches to safeguarding people from the risk of developing heart conditions. The scientist adds that more studies are needed on the issue, before medical recommendations can be given by experts without any risks.

Underwater Camera Mask

Underwater Camera MaskAlmost everyone these days owns a digital SLR, because they’re both affordable and they don’t lack the quality that some of us demand even from vacation pictures. Sadly, if you go to a region where you can dive, unless you have a sum equal to about twice the price of your camera to spare for an underwater casing, you’ll have to settle for pictures “on the dry”. Sure, you could just buy an underwater compact camera, but then again, you’d have to hassle with its poor ergonomics.

Good news, Liquid Image released a new camera mask. Besides a new and improved CMOS sensor that now outputs 5.0MP, the 5.0MP Camera Mask sports the same 16MB NAND internal flash memory that can be expanded using the Micro SD card slot. Mind that the maximum card size supported is only 2GB. You can take 29 full resolution pictures using only the internal storage.

Video mode is still restricted to VGA, with a frame rate between 18 and 25FPS. It takes its power from a AAA 1.5V battery, but it also supports the 1.2V NiMH type. Also worth mentioning is the status display LCD, the software-less USB image/video download, 0.5m to infinity focusing range and a 5M explorer series depth rating.
