According to the recent research, just five minutes of exercise a day in the great outdoors can improve mental health and policymakers should encourage more people to spend time in parks and gardens. They found out that as little as five minutes of a “green activity” such as walking, gardening, cycling or farming can boost mood and self esteem.
“We believe that there would be a large potential benefit to individuals, society and to the costs of the health service if all groups of people were to self-medicate more with green exercise,” Barton said in a statement about the study, which was published in the journal Environmental Science & Technology.
Many studies have shown that outdoor exercise can reduce the risk of mental illness and improve a sense of well-being, but Jules Pretty and Jo Barton, who led this study, said that until now no one knew how much time needed to be spent on green exercise for the benefits to show. They both looked at data from 1,252 people of different ages, genders and mental health status taken from 10 existing studies in Britain. Analyzing the activities such as walking, gardening, cycling, fishing, boating, horse-riding and farming.

Pond pump is the heart and soul of any garden pond. It is a very significant component because without it there will be no water movement that could result in mosquitoes and other unwanted pests breeding in it. Choosing the right pond pumps helps you get the desired pond water flow and to have sufficient flow to filter the water. Thus, it is important to take time in choosing the right pond pump that conforms to the need.
Pumps are available in both submersible and external (out-of-pond models). Submersible pump is recommended for small pond (up to 1000 gallons of water) as it is more economical and practical option. But, keep in mind that a properly sized pond pump can mean the difference between a clean pond and a dirty one. But most reputable garden suppliers can give information and assistance to help you select the best model and connecting equipment for your purposes.

Other than ipod, I thought of giving my brother some books. He is really into reading especially if he can’t find any computer around. Well, he is not really allowed to use computer every day because he tends to ignore almost all other things even eating. That’s mom only allowed at least two hours of computer games during weekends. To entertain himself, he diverts his attention to books.
Well, I have to find good children’s book that will hone his reading skills and comprehension skills, I guess. All I have to do now is to find the right children Amazon books. There are several books I’ve seen and it’s actually difficult to choose one. He is a bit picky as well. He will only read those books with lots of pictures. I guess that is normal as kids are drawn more to pictures than words.
Now, I’ve got several things to do in my lists already. Hopefully, I can get the book and ipod for my brother’s birthday.

We may like it or not, but one in three men still says he’s very uncomfortable when he’s in the passenger seat and his lady at the wheel according to the Daily Mail. They believe women are too easily distracted and have serious problems concentrating when at the wheel, which makes a ride with them almost unbearable.
They also have terrible timing; don’t know when to brake or when to hit the accelerator. Consequently, one in ten men was forced to reach out and handle the wheel himself as his partner took her eyes off the road, or allowed the car to skid outside the lane. An equal number of men admitted to losing their temper and asking their partners to pull over so that they could take over.
The high level of discomfort translates into a firm belief that they (the men) are much better drivers than their wives, a spokesperson for OnePoll, which conducted the survey on 3,000 men, says for the Mail. Men believe they concentrate a lot better, read road situations more quickly and clearly and have better reactions. Nevertheless, that’s not to say that men are without fault when on the road.

Early this morning I wake up by the sound of an alarm. I clearly remember I did not set my cell phone alarm clock as there is no need to wake up early. Somebody might have turned it on. I confronted hubby about it and denied my allegations.
When I checked my phone, I’m a bit surprise to see that it’s not an alarm. It is a reminder note that my youngest sibling will celebrate his birthday this 29th of July. That kid really knows how to get to me even if I’m oceans away from them.
Well, part of his note is his birthday wish, an ipod. He is a great fan of music and none of our family member love to turn the radio on every day. That’s why he keeps on borrowing my Ipod touch when I was there. I guess I have to check on different ipod reviews before going to the store to buy one.
I wonder if there are affordable ipods in the market. My finances aren’t so good these days. But, I will keep my eyes close for his birthday wish. I already broke one promise before I left. So, not fulfilling another wish might make him feel really bad at me.

Before, I wonder why almost all physicians asked if the patient is smoking or not. I thought the only reason is the medicines will interfere with the nicotine or other chemicals from the smoke. Well, that is not entirely wrong. Some medicines don’t react to smokers. But, the main reason is that smoke is one of contributors to almost all kinds of sickness.
I learned this from the internet while searching for different Health Facts. Actually, hubby told me about this before, but I did not really believe even if he is in the medical field. After reading several articles about it, I can now say he is right.
For people with no relative in the medical field, it is quite alarming if one does not know this kind of information. Good thing there are lots of websites that offer all essential information about health issues that everyone like me should know. Health issues and news can now be easily access. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying you could rely solely in the web. It is highly recommended to see a doctor especially if you feel anything unusual in your body.

If I knew the acne body wash before, I’m sure my brother would have not suffered from body acne. When my brother next to me reaches the age of 16, acne started showing around his body (back, chest, and arms). He tried using antibacterial soaps, but none seems to work. It even worsens the situation.
We had no idea how it happened. We are not web freak at that time, so we have less information as to its causes. All we ever thought it was caused by dirt. So, he tried washing several times a day. But, it doesn’t help either. Nothing happened even if he changes his clothes every hour.
He gave up when he reached 17. The severity of acne around his face and body continued. It leaves deep scars on his face and black spots in his body. It’s very disappointing as he has a very fair skin so all the blemishes are easy to spot. For now, he goes to his dermatologist often. But, the scars are still visible.
If only we are well-informed before, we could have prevented it from getting worse. There is less we can do now, but wait for a miracle to happen.
