could have suggested reverse mortgage

Hubby’s grandmother now 64, who is living alone in her home wants to go on singles vacation, but doesn’t have sufficient money to pay the expenses. Unfortunately, she doesn’t have huge retirement savings to deal with it. Also, she doesn’t want to bother her one and only child with the expenses. She knows it will be a pain for her child who now has a family of six. But, it’s her longtime dream to travel. So, she is looking for ways to get money without having to bother anybody.

If she is just living in the US, I could have suggested the use of reverse mortgage. By definition, a reverse mortgage is a special type of home loan that lets homeowners converts a portion of the equity in their home into cash. Homeowners can access a portion of their equity that built up over the years. In contrast to traditional home equity loan or second mortgage, no repayment of the mortgage (principal or interest) is required until the borrower dies or the home is sold in reverse mortgage. But, since the home serves as collateral, it must be sold in order to repay the mortgage when the borrower dies.

For sure grandma will qualify in this type of loan. She is more than 62 years old, owns the home and is living in the home, which are the requirements needed to be eligible. I guess mother-in-law won’t mind it since she already owns a house of her home. And, I’m certain she wants to bring happiness to her mom. [Read more...]

Traveling Ideas with Children Anywhere

Perhaps you may find yourself rethinking the idea of traveling with children, but you will find plenty of ways to keep it stress-free, as long as, you learn how to plan a vacation well. You will want to take the following tips inconsideration so that you can have a great family vacation.

The first thing that you will want to do is include your kids in the planning. Ask them to get involved in the planning process and you will find their excitement will build. Although children sometimes have a limited amount of attention and tend to get tuckered out quickly, you can plan a lot of simple and exciting activities for the whole family to take part in.

You will also want to think about the things that you bring on the trip as well. You will want to bring plenty of things that you will need like disposable diapers, but you will also find that you can rent a lot of the furniture needed for the baby like a stroller or crib. You will want to make sure that you bring your medication for the children and also be prepared for anything by bringing a first-aid kit. You will also need to ask how you can sterilize or prepare the bottles at the hotel too.

Keep in mind that the key is to keep them busy whether on a long car ride or a flight to Murcia. You will want to make sure that the trip is very enjoyable for the entire family, but you will also want to make the children feel comfortable. If that means that you bring their favorite videos or CD’s, well then you will just need to bring them. Keeping the children happy and busy will make a great vacation even better.

Also, make sure that you think about the children’s safety on the road. This is very important and you will want to make sure that you take all the precautions to keep your children safe. These means that you will need to drive slowly, safely, and on the defense so that you can protect your children as much as possible. [Read more...]

hope he can closed it

Yesterday, hubby excitedly told me about an offer he is trying to close. He said that if he can successfully make the deal, he will let me shop whatever I want. The news of it also excites me and I can’t wait for it. If I can only help him, then I would, sadly I can’t. So, I’ll just wait for the outcome, which I’m praying for the good one.

Anyway, I’m trying to think what I will buy. I’m pretty sure I can only pick one item because he did not state that I can shop ’til I drop so I’d better settle for one that I like. I guess the perfect one is shoes like one of those privo shoes. I already decided to toss most of my old shoes, besides I’ve already used them for quite a while and they are not in perfect condition. So, having a new pair is the perfect item I need these days. I guess it’s already decided, all I have to do now is to wait for the good news.

happy to maintain great shape

Weeh… I’m happy to share that I indeed maintain great shape. It’s been quite a while since the last time I talked about my weight. Well, I’m pretty sure I mentioned a few months ago that I was able to lose some pounds, which makes me really proud and happy. Maintaining is also as difficult as losing because I need to keep monitoring the food I eat and has to continually exercise. But, I’m happy with the result so the effort is worth it.

But, I still continue checking weight loss products like fat burners. In some way, I know I will need this information; maybe not now, but probably in the future. Like they say, it’s better to be ready. Knowing the latest news and trends will keep me up-to-date. Who knows I will find myself forgetting all my efforts and binge eat and laze around. At least knowing some information will help me find the right product to use when that time comes.

How to Not Think and Look Like a Tourist?

When you travel with a fanny back, you can rest assure that you will instantly be branded as a tourist. I have yet to see a non-American tourist sporting the fanny. Get rid of the fanny pack, it is aging, cheesy and worse of all just plain ugly. I know this sounds obvious but I have no idea why so many people open an oversize map in the middle of the street. Study the map before leaving the hotel or even better leaving your home. That way, a quick glance while walking around is all you need to re-orient yourself.

If this is impossible, how about taking a break at a local restaurant or even pulling into a store to regroup. If you must travel with a map, try to get a small discreet one. Anything is better than pulling out the map with the fanny pack around your waist in the middle of lots of foot traffic.

When you visit glorious culinary cities such as Rome or Paris, do not eat at KFC, McDonalds or any other predictable American chain. Eat the way the locals do, grab the street food, and don’t assume that it is dangerous it will most likely be delicious.

Leave that flashy jewelry at home. Wearing expensive draped around your neck and the expensive ring adorning your finger, you are asking for trouble. You will be an easy target for local thieves or a tourist who just does not know any better.

If you are staying in a hotel, utilize concierge service. With their help, you will know exactly where you are going. If you have opted to rent a vacation apartment, prior to arrival find out if you can hire a guide to orient you to city so that you do not have to wander around aimlessly.

Please make an attempt to learn the basics of the language. Do not assume that everyone speaks English. The French especially Parisians appreciate the effort and will encourage your learning. A few keywords in the local language will open many doors. No one is expecting you to be fluent but you will be surprised at how the service improves when you memorize a few key phrases in the local language. [Read more...]

she has arrived

Yesterday, the owner of the house arrived. We thought she will be with the rest of her sisters. But, to our surprise she is with her boyfriend. I guess that is the reason, she is keeping her return a secret. Yet, I don’t think there is a need to hide anything since she is already 33 years old. She has all the rights to have a relationship even without the consent of her parents or those who raised her.

Actually, we were not able to have a nice conversation yet. She is still battling with jetlag after an 18 hours flight. But, the first question she raised is when she will be receiving one of my baby shower invitations. She reminds me not to forget about her when that time comes. Hmmm, I can’t tell her honestly that it’s not part of my plan yet. I’m pretty sure it will come at the right time. For now, hubby and I are focused on some other plan that is to commence.
