being company rat for a big corporation

When I was still working as a company rat for a big corporation, I am the one looking for the kind of Promotional Products we will be using. It is this time of the year where we get to go out and join festivities held every summer. There was this time when we join a parade and give out pens to all passersby. The experience is both fun and not fun.
I remembered all this stuff, when I heard back home that the annual festivities are coming. I phoned a friend who is still working for the company and just ask what their activities are. The usual she said. She is pointing out the same thing that I used to do.
I told my mom, if ever she will watch the parade might as well ask for the products they are giving and keep it until I return. I still want remembrance from my old company. She agreed about it, if she will join.
There are really lots of companies giving away products to gain exposure this summer. There are free and there are those that I need to buy. I will buy if I find it really useful for the time being. I wouldn’t mind, however, if it is not useful and will just add clutter to my closet or cabinet.
