Preparing for the Christmas Eve stressed everybody in the house. Well, of course that includes me. So, before stress sinks in my entire system, I have to do something to get me back on the move. Author Richard Louv’s book Last Child in the Woods: Saving Our Children from Nature-Deficit Disorder has provided an impetus for a movement that seeks to get kids back in touch with nature. “Nature Deficit Disorder” is the term that he has given to the disconnection between today’s children and the great outdoors. Some states have launched initiatives to get kids outside and the No Child Left Inside Act is pending at the federal level. Louv and many other believe that the absence of nature in children’s lives is related to increasing stress levels, childhood obesity, depression and stress. Here are some of our tips for helping your kids to overcome NDD, and joyfully connect with nature:
* Slow down the forced march, smell the roses (or find the bugs under the rocks) and share kids’ wonder.

Speaking of wedding, I remember a friend who loves to participate in the wedding ceremony. However, she doesn’t want to get married as she is so picky. In a span of two years I can call her an old maid. Last year, she joined her cousins grand wedding ceremony where is act as her maid of honor. She really loves it, and keeps telling everyone that she will also have a wedding like that if her cousin. She showed pictures of wedding bouquets, floral arrangements, the gowns, reception and so on. But, I kept on thinking how she will get marry as she has no boyfriend at all.

Last September my brother bought a laptop with not so high specs. Well, he doesn’t understand much the importance of high specs that time. Now that he is more familiar with computers, he wants to increase his laptop memory. My partner told him that his laptop is okay. All he has to do is remove all the unnecessary items that make his computer slow. Instead of paying much he just follows my partner’s advice.

Davao has a lot of things to be proud of. It is the location of the country’s highest peak, Mt. Apo. It is known for the most beautiful and sought-after orchid, the Waling-waling. It offers the most exotic fruits, including the Durian, the “fruit of the gods”. And it is the home of the national bird, the Philippine eagle. But when you’re in love, you don’t go to see all these things. I mean, this is not a biology class field trip. You take a stroll, holding hands, on a ridge that overlooks a cemetery.
There is one particular part in the Davao City that is accessible only by taxis or private vehicles. That is, the vehicles should manage the uphill winding cemented road. On this part of the city, you will find the Shrine and the Jack’s Ridge. The restaurants at the Ridge open early evening but the whole place is open earlier for people to explore, and have a romantic walk. With daylight, you can view the whole sprawling city and easily spot the tallest building, the Marco Polo. And on one part, you find the cemetery, with its white little stones.
